Attend two free events hosted by the Town of Exeter’s “Healthy Lawns | Clean Water” Initiative
Come learn techniques to keep lawns and watersheds safe at two free events this spring: a May 4th forum discussion, and a May 14th hands-on clinic.
“Healthy Lawns – Clean Water FORUM” features three expert speakers with a time for questions to follow. Also on-site will be vendor tables, so you may ask specific eco-friendly product questions from reps from Arjay’s Ace Hardware, Churchill’s Garden Center, and Dodge’s Agway. This event is in partnership with Great Bay-Piscatagua Waterkeeper. Doors open at 5:30 pm, snacks provided, program at 6pm. Wednesday, May 4th at 6-8:30pm at Exeter High School, 1 Bluehawk Drive.
“Healthy Lawns – Clean Water CLINIC” features Margaret Hagen of WMUR’s “Grow it Green”, experts from UNH’s Cooperative Extension, and the traveling NH DOT stormwater runoff exhibit. This outdoor session will give you practical knowledge and skills around soil testing and amendments, as well as grass cultivation best-practices. Registration is encouraged but not required. Free skills CD to first 25 people to register and participate. Contact Kristen Murphy at firstname.lastname@example.org or 603-418-6452. Drawing for a free rain barrel. Saturday, May 14th at 10-11:45am at Swasey Parkway, Exeter. In the event of rain, the event will be held inside the Town Hall.
